I work with a lovely young lady who is marrying her sweetheart next year. And, in what I consider to be an excellent decision, they are honeymooning in France.

Last week, I promised that I would review the recently published ‘How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are – Love, Style and Bad Habits’. And today, I’ve finally got around to doing so. Now, before you continue reading, I should warn you that this hasn’t ended up being a ‘real’ review – it’s more […]
A little while ago, I was attracted, somewhat unsurprisingly, to a blog post on The Simply Luxurious Life titled ’10 Ways to Unearth Your Inner Francophile’. In the post, Shannon lists a variety of ways that you might be able to bring a little bit of the French way of living into your everyday […]
I’m starting to get a bit excited. We are looking at travelling back to France next year, and it’s only a few short weeks now until the early bird flights become available. And once the flights are booked, the planning can really commence.
Seriously, there are so (SO!) many things I should be doing right now. But instead I am daydreaming about Paris (again). And I wonder why I never get anything done!
I love finding unique gifts for family and friends. And I love it even more when the entire shopping experience is just plain fun!
Following on from my previous recommendation on the Musée Rodin, I can’t not mention Versailles. I know it is highlighted in every travel guide ever written, but there is good reason for that! The whole place is spectacular. The Palace itself, the grounds, the fountains, the history – every little piece! I don’t feel the […]
I was speaking with a colleague today who is about to head off on her very first trip to Paris. She is excited, and I am excited for her. And our conversation really got me thinking about my must see places in Paris. It it is worth noting that, as a rule, I am […]
Finding my favourite chocolate on the weekend got me thinking about Tain-l’Hermitage. And in thinking about Tain, I realised that there were still highlights from the region that I was yet to share with you all. And one of those highlights was our visit to the cellar door of M. Chapoutier.
When we return from a trip, it is inevitable that we will get questions. And I guess it is also inevitable that these questions will revolve around a couple of common topics. As a result I can virtually guarantee that we will always get questions about two things – accommodation and packing.
Ok, I’ve done my research. And I’ve learnt that if I truly want to blog about France, it is clear that I need to write a post about French pharmacies!
We knew when we decided to visit Tain-l’Hermitage and Tournon-sur-Rhône that we had way too much to see to cover it all in just one day. So we decided to book a hotel for the night and give ourselves another day in the area – and what a great decision that was. It is […]
It would be safe to say that I did my fair share of shopping while we were in Paris recently. I took the opportunity to explore many small boutiques as well as all les Grands Magasins. And I can finally declare my favourite Parisian shopping destination. The winner is BHV in the Marais.
We had lunch today. And it’s a lunch I will remember for a very long time. Because it was more than just a meal – it truly was an experience.
After our trip to Dijon on Friday, we backed it up with a visit to the amazing village of Perouges on Saturday afternoon.
We’ve just spent an amazing couple of days exploring parts of France we’ve always wanted to visit. On Friday, we jumped on a train and travelled to Dijon.
The weather today was much sunnier but earlier this week we experienced many showers in Lyon. But rain isn’t a problem here, thanks to a very special umbrella shop.
Yesterday we spent a lovely afternoon exploring Northern Rhone wine region of France with Olivier Delalande of Kanpai Tours.
Ok, keep reading to learn something about me that not many people know.
We head back to France soon, and one place I am very keen to revisit is the gorgeous Serge Lutens boutique – Les Salons du Palais Royal. Situated in Paris’ Jardin du Palais Royal, the space is small but spectacular and provided one of the ‘retail highlights’ of our last trip. The store is unlike […]
