It has been such a long time since I’ve pulled together a French inspiration post like this one. I used to write them quite regularly and can’t quite remember why I stopped. I’m thinking that it probably had something to do with the amount of time I kept losing in the name of ‘internet research’…
Either way, I had such a great time curating this piece. And I really hope you get a whole stack of enjoyment – and inspiration – from it too.
Bringing French Style Into Everyday Life
I’ve been sharing my love of all things French on Distant Francophile for a long time now. But I still get a real buzz whenever a fellow francophile invites me to write a piece for their blog.
This happened recently when Annette from the fabulous A French Collection asked me to put together some tips for her readers on bringing French style into everyday life.
A French Collection is beautiful blog that highlights diverse voices imparting their views on so much of what we all love about France. I’m very grateful to Annette for reaching out and allowing me the opportunity to share my thoughts with her readers.
I’d love for you to check out what I came up with here.
And if you are wondering what sort of advice you might get from a French stylist, you might like to take a peek at this website.
French Inspiration In Pictures
When I’m feeling like I’m missing France – and especially Paris – even more than usual, one of my favourite things to do is check out a photo or two (or ten). As a very visual person, I find I can get a ‘French fix’ in just minutes.
With that in mind, you can imagine much this piece from This Is Glamorous showcasing chic but touristy photos made me smile.
Instagram is also a sensational source of visual inspiration and recently shared my favourite accounts for stylish francophiles. If you missed it, you can explore all of my favourites here.
Perhaps you are interested in purchasing some very original, feminine photographs (with beautiful Paris as the backdrop!) for your own home. If this is the case, it would be worth your time to take a look at the latest creations from one of our favourite photographers, Carla Coulson.
French Inspiration In Videos
If I’m being totally transparent, I find You Tube channels a bit hit and miss. But the channels that I do like, I really like. And so it is with Justine Leconte Officiel.
Justine is a fashion designer who shares all sorts of French style tips on her channel. I’ve followed her for a while and I know that others in our community do too. (A big hello to you Alisa). If you’ve not yet discovered Justine yet, get ready for some interesting information – and a gorgeous accent!
Shoe Shopping In Paris
Finally, to wrap up – it’s rare that I come across a woman who isn’t interested in shoes. They can be such a statement piece – a basic outfit can be completely transformed with the right pair of shoes.
And Paris can be a wonderful place to shop for beautiful footwear. But like any big city, it can also be difficult to know where to start. Which was why I was very quick to bookmark this piece over on My French LifeTM.
Have you come across any inspirational French bits and pieces recently? If so, please share in the comments section below so we can all join in on the fun.
And until next time – au revoir.

Some of the tourist photos crack me up – “I’ll pose on the balcony, with a bunch of roses in my arms, and the Eiffel Tower in the background. Nobody’s EVER done that!”
Nice treats for a Sunday morning – thanks for sharing!
So lovely to hear from you Janice – and I’m so glad you got a smile from the photos. They made me giggle too!
Janelle, so much inspiration here – what a fabulous post. Thanks for the Instagram suggestions, I can always add more gorgeous Frenchness to my day. Annette xx
Thanks so much Annette – I’m glad you enjoyed the post. And thanks again for inviting me to guest post – it was so much fun.
