Welcome to a fresh, new Frenchify Your Friday.
Speaking of fresh and new, here in Melbourne the very first signs of spring are starting to peek out from behind the covers of a long, cold winter. Every now and then we have a warmer day. Spring bulbs are starting to pop up. And it is staying lighter later.
Another thing I’ve noticed is more dog owners seem to be out and about walking their four legged friends. Scotty and I had a lovely time on the weekend walking our own pooch. And we couldn’t help but notice how many other pups were also enjoying the sunshine.
Seeing dogs parading their owners about (which is I’m sure is how the dogs think about going for a walk) never fails to remind me of France. It’s no secret that the French adore their dogs. They are well definitely part of the family and readily accepted in shops, restaurants and cafés.
So to Frenchify Your Friday this week, why not make a special occasion of walking your dog. Perhaps you could dress up a bit, and incorporate a stop at a local café or bar along the way. Yes, if you are in most places other than France, you’ll have to plan to stop at an establishment with an outdoor seating option but you should be able to accommodate that!
Of course, if you don’t own a dog, this week’s suggestion could be a little trickier to achieve. You might have to offer to walk the dog of a friend or a neighbour. A bit of furry company definitely adds a different dimension to your average walk. And if you don’t like dogs at all….well, maybe skip this week’s idea and head to the FYF archives to choose something a little more up your alley.
All the best for a fabulous Friday.
And until next time – au revoir.

Dear Janelle,
I must say that dogs catch my attention. I have not been here regularly so I am trying to catch up with all the blogs I have missed seeing.
Our schools (well my children’s school) started 3 weeks ago and I could not be less busier. Coming here reading your lovely blogs help transport me back to the place I love as well. So many thanks…
Nat
P.S. We do not have any puppy, we just could not due do allergy reasons (not even the hypoallergenic ones). However your ideas of borrowing our friends’ dogs and walking them around sound appealing. There are so many cute ones in our neighborhood.
So lovely to hear from you Nat – I’m glad that the blog is taking you back to France – at least in spirit. Returning to school is such a busy time – hopefully things will settle down for you soon. Good luck finding a dog to walk!!
And what a cutie pie! He (or she) is way too cute!!!
Her name is Crumpet Nat. She is 13 years old now…our son named her when he was just 7…otherwise she would have had a French name! And yes, she is a cute girl.
Wish we were like her, staying super cute forever! Crumpet sounds like a perfect name for her and she could have a cool French middle name (and or last name). I showed this photo of her to my Andrew (who is almost 9) and he said “ohhh soooo Cute”. Thank you for sharing.
It’s an absolute pleasure Nat.
