I’m writing this week’s Frenchify Your Friday post with a big smile on my face.
Once I hit publish on this piece, we will have shared a years worth of French Friday ideas!
And that makes me smile because I remember discussing the whole Frenchify Your Friday concept with Scott twelve months ago.
At the time, I was looking to introduce some different content onto Distant Francophile. I was posting twice a week and thought it might be nice to do something on a Thursday night or Friday morning.
Whatever I came up with, I knew I wanted it to be short, light-hearted and fun and Frenchify Your Friday seemed to fit the brief.
And I clearly remember stating that I thought it would be a ‘mini series’ – and that maybe I would write it for around ten weeks or so.
So you can see why I’m amused that it has survived for a year!
I honestly didn’t expect the idea to last for a year. Nor did I anticipate that it would be so popular with all of you.
Interestingly, I still have a stack of ideas to share. I know that they will run out one day but for now they are still flowing.
So to Frenchify Your Friday this week I’d love for you to share – in the comments section below – your favourite way to bring a little bit of French inspiration into your Friday.
Whether it is through food, fashion or fun I know it will be creative and inspiring.
Thank you so much for being here- and all the best for a fabulous Friday.
Until next time – au revoir.

Your Frenchify Friday posts are a Friday morning ritual for me these days. One of my favourite posts was the one you wrote about wearing a red lip! The tips you shared about finding the perfect shade of red, application methods and brands were really helpful – I actually purchased myself a lip brush and haven’t looked back since. Thanks for bringing a some French inspiration to our Fridays, they are always a lovely read!
Thanks so much Liz – so glad to hear that you are enjoying your French Friday’s. And red lippy would look absolutely smashing on you!!
I’m in France, so it’s hard NOT to have a French Friday. But one thing that is more appreciated on Fridays vs. weekdays: aperitif time! Husband likes a “p’tit ponch” (no idea how the spelling changed), while I tend toward a glass of Chardonnay or blanquette de Limoux or a kir royale. Dinner starts a little later and lasts a little longer. The civilized segue into the weekend.
Very civilised indeed Taste of France! I love the fact that even when you are lucky enough to be in France, there is still a way to Frenchify Your Friday! Enjoy!
I love the idea of a kir apéro on Fridays! something that is no trouble at all, but just a bit special, and very frenchified. 🙂
I sometimes frenchify my Friday by stopping by a local bakery for a pain au chocolat “goûter” on my way home in the evening, and I buy a fresh croissant to take away for my weekend breakfast. Two days frenchified!
