I’ve started back at French lessons again.
Hmmm – right now, I’m imagining all of you rolling your eyes and wondering if I am actually the slowest learner on the planet…
It turns out that although I appear to be eternally inept, I really enjoy the process of learning the French language. I don’t even mind the homework.
In fact, I really enjoyed this week’s homework. (Ok, so my imagination is really working overtime tonight – I’m quite sure I just heard the voice of my younger sister – who lives over an hour away – calling me a massive nerd).
Apart from the from the standard textbook exercises, we were also tasked with listening to French radio.
Seriously, I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of tuning into a French station sooner. It’s so easy to do either via any number of apps or straight over the Internet and I was amazed how much I started to understand as the week went on.
You can choose between news or music stations. I’ve been jumping around all week but at this point in time my favourite station is France Info.
I knew I was really hooked to this whole French radio thing when I started listening with my French dictionary close by so l could check words I didn’t understand.
So this week, why not Frenchify Your Friday by listening to some French radio. It’s a cheap, easy and fun way to bring a whole lot of France into your day.
All the best for a fabulous Friday.
Until next time – au revoir.

I listen to Chante France all day every day, when I’m working. I don’t know if it’s helped my French any, but I have discovered a whole world of music that I would have never heard!
hugs,
Janice
Thanks Janice. I’ll have to try that one.
Vous êtes bien….sur Radio Classique….my favorite. Their jingle has two meanings: you feel good with Classical radio and you really are on Classical radio. They have some interesting interviews between the music.
