Frenchify Your Friday – Number 14

Paul Bocuse dessert

Welcome to this week’s Frenchify Your Friday!

I don’t know about you but there are certain foods that I automatically associate with France. Steak frites, cassoulet and French onion soup all immediately spring to mind.

And on the sweet end of the spectrum, I can’t go past crème brûlée.

But why would you go past it? Sweet, eggy custard sitting happily below caramelised sugar – what’s not to like?

Crème brûlée – which translates into English as burnt cream – can be quite tricky to make at home. Which is probably why it often tempts me when I feel like dessert in a restaurant…

So to Frenchify Your Friday this week, I’m suggesting tracking down a crème brûlée. Perhaps for lunch. Or for dinner. Or maybe even with a cup of tea in the afternoon.

It really doesn’t matter what time of day you enjoy it.

What will matter is the fact that you will be transported to France from your very first taste.

Wishing everyone a fabulous Friday.

And until next time – au revoir.
