Welcome to August everyone.
I’ve got lots of French inspiration to share this month, so I am going to dive right in.
Paris has a kind of mixed reputation during August. Some francophiles love visiting in August because things are sometimes quieter as the locals head out of town for their summer vacation. Others are not so keen, due to exactly the same fact – they feel that Paris loses something when the locals turn over their town to the tourists. Regardless of which camp you fall into, it does seem like there is a lot going on in Paris in the coming weeks. So, if you do happen to be travelling to Paris this month, I recommend you check out Paris in August – what’s on? As usual, the team at My French Life™ have done all the research so you don’t have to miss a thing.
Whether you are travelling to Paris this month or at some point in the future, you should definitely check out this great advice from Kimberly of The Paris Itinerary before you head off. And if you haven’t already, don’t forget to check out my latest tips for looking like a local prior to packing your bags.
Now, if you haven’t travelled for a while, Tracey Tullis’ piece – 15 Reasons Why Frequent Travellers Are More Likely To Be Successful – might be just the incentive you need to get you booking your next trip.
Everyone knows how much I love French restaurants. So I was super excited when I came across the latest listing of Melbourne’s Top 10 Best French Restaurants. Scott and I will be doing our best to visit all of these establishments in the coming year – naturally, I will let you know our favourites.
Have you checked out Distant Francophile on Instagram yet? Scott and I have been having great fun posting our favourite French inspired photos. If you haven’t already, check out our account here. And don’t forget to follow Distant Francophile on Facebook where I will be sharing more French inspiration throughout the month.
Wishing you a safe and happy August, full of French fun.
Until next time – au revoir.
