My Must See French Village

My must see French village

We’ve said à bientôt to Paris for now and have headed south to Tain-l’Hermitage, the stunningly beautiful town which sits comfortably on the banks of the massive Rhône river.

Scott and I both fell in love with this part of France during last year’s trip – and we just couldn’t wait to come back. I’m not quite sure why, but the town seems even more picturesque than it was last May. Perhaps its the fact that our visit is a few weeks later in the year – the weather is just a little warmer and the atmosphere a smidge more relaxed (or maybe it’s just that we are more relaxed).

This little piece of the world really is a must see French village. I can imagine returning to again and again. I adore Paris and I absolutely love Lyon, but the more time I spend in small French towns the more I come to understand that they really do hold a charm that the big French cities will never rival.

Tain-l’Hermitage and it’s sister city Tournon-sur-Rhône certainly pack a punch when it comes to exploring the best of French food and wine – and there is also lots to see and do both in the towns and within the region.

To get a better feel for the area, check out the article I wrote for My French Life™. Alternatively, try this piece I wrote on the most spectacular rail journey you can take, if you ever happen to be in this part of France.

Have you ever visited Tain-l’Hermitage? Feel free to share your experience in the comments below.

Until next time – au revoir.

PS – we are having a little trouble with stable internet connections down here but I will be posting here and on Facebook and Instagram as often as I can.
