Frenchify Your Friday – Number 41

Provence is one of the homes of French soap

One item that I never fail to bring home from France is French soap.  And it’s not just because they make excellent gifts and souvenirs.

Every time I use French soap with its creamy lather, I am immediately transported to the French countryside. Often made in the south of France around Provence and Marseille, French soap is finely milled and divinely fragranced.

It’s the fragrances of the soaps and their bright colours that attract me the most.

My favourites are verbena – usually a gorgeous shade of pale yellow but always with its lovely lemony scent and the cakes of white lait (milk in French). But I’m also tempted by rose scented pink soap and it is hard to go past the honey or the lavender fragrances.

French soaps come in a range of sizes, all of which last for ages.

So why not Frenchify Your Friday this week by treating yourself to a cake of French soap.

Whether you make your choice on colour, scent or both, you are sure to be delighted.

All the best for a fabulous Friday.

Until next time – au revoir.
