Distant Francophile Teams Up With My French Life

Janelle Gould - Rhone Alpes - Chapoutier - MyFrenchLife™

Anyone who enjoys reading Distant Francophile probably keeps an eye out for other sources of French inspiration. As such, you might already be aware of one of my personal favourites – the online magazine My French Life.

I’ve been an avid reader for a very long time. Judy and her team of contributors do an excellent job of going ‘beyond the cliché’, providing interesting and diverse articles on all things French.  There is always something to learn from the writings on My French Life!

And today, I’m super excited to have joined the My French Life team!

Given I am such an admirer of the magazine, it was with quite a bit of apprehension that I pitched a few article ideas to the editorial team. Despite how nervous I was, I’m really pleased to report that some of these ideas must have fit the bill because my very first article has been published in My French Life.

I’m so happy to share a snippet with you here.

I’ve long considered myself a Francophile, and a bit of a foodie. So I’m embarrassed to admit that my first introduction to the famous French food and wine town of Tain-l’Hermitage came via my husband’s desire to visit a tourist railway on the border of the picturesque Rhône-Alpes region of central France.

But, perhaps I shouldn’t feel so bad. Despite Tain-l’Hermitage being home to 6000 residents and both M. Chapoutier Wines and Valrhona Chocolate, the town is far from a typical tourist trap…

I’d love for you to follow the link to read the whole article, ‘Off the beaten track in France: Tain-l’Hermitage‘.

Until next time – au revoir.
